Classifying Objections Quickly (So You Respond Correctly)

Classifying Objections Quickly (So You Respond Correctly)

Purpose of This Lesson

To prevent wrong responses to the wrong objection type.

The Four Main Objection Types

Most objections fall into one of these categories:

  1. Value Objections
    • “Why do we need this?”
    • “Is this really necessary?”
  2. Price Objections
    • “Too expensive”
    • “No budget”
  3. Risk Objections
    • “What if adoption fails?”
    • “Will this really work?”
  4. Timing Objections
    • “Not now”
    • “Next year”

Responding incorrectly escalates resistance.

Why Classification Matters

If you treat:

  • A risk objection as a price objection → you discount unnecessarily
  • A timing objection as a rejection → you push too hard
  • A value objection as technical → you confuse the buyer

Correct classification = correct control.
